Stud Poker
Stud Poker is a card game, in which each player plays against the croupier. It is played with a deck of fifty-two cards placed in a distributor.
How to play
First of all, the players sitting at the table must place their bets on the “ANTE” card. Then the croupier deals the cards and each player, including the croupier, receives 5 cards, which are dealt in turn, face down. The last card of the croupier is turned up. It is only at the end of the dealing that the players get to see their hand and can decide whether to fold or raise, after having established their best hand. If the player folds, he/she says “fold”, and places his/her cards face down on the “card” square. The croupier collects the bet, spreads the cards, counts them, then “burns” them.
If the player raises, he/she places double the initial bet on the “raise” square and places his/her cards, face down, by the “raise” square.
The player can exchange a card, which will cost him/her the amount of the “ANTE”. To do so, the player places the card that he/she wishes to exchange over the raise square, with the amount of the purchase on it.
The croupier exchanges the card and replaces the new one perpendicularly in the player’s hand.
When each player has made his/her decision, the croupier displays his hand, horizontally, face-up, before him, based on his best combination.
The croupier must have at least an Ace/King combination to play.
If the croupier does not have this Ace/King combination, all players still in the game will be paid on the “ANTE” at 1:1. The raise bet is not paid. When the croupier has the combination, he checks each player’s hand. Players with a higher value hand will be paid on the “ANTE” bet at 1:1; for “RAISE” bets, they will receive the following payoffs :

The value of the cards, in decreasing order, is as follows: Ace, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
An Ace is worth one in straights and straight flushes only. In cases of one colour, there is no hierarchy in the colours. In the case of a tie, the highest card that does not belong to the winning combination shall determine the winner.
The value of a full shall be decided by the types of the “three cards”.
Observations :
- The initial bet may not be modified or withdrawn after the first card is dealt.
- A card that is revealed is not considered as a misdeal. It is returned and the dealing continues.
- Maximum and minimum amounts are shown on the table. Bets are made in €5 units.
- Each player may only play in one box and the box must correspond to the chair used by the player. The players must remain seated while they play.
- The player may look at his/her cards when the croupier has dealt all of the cards. Players may not speak or exchange information about their hand.
- Play is void when a player or the croupier receives the wrong number of cards or when the croupier drops two or more cards, or when the value of two or more cards is known.
- Players are forbidden from betting against each other. They are also forbidden from betting in another player’s box.
- Players must always keep their cards above the table, where the croupier can see them easily.
- In the case of a dispute during the game, the Management’s decision is binding and final.
